Supporting the student entrepreneur
The Riata Center for Entrepreneurship is the catalyst for entrepreneurial education,
support and outreach for OSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and the state of Oklahoma.
The center delivers high-quality experiential learning activities in and out of the
classroom in collaboration with the School of Entrepreneurship and a community of on- and off-campus partners.
OSU students interested in learning about and starting their own businesses can gain
hands-on experience from faculty, fellow students and successful business people through
experiential learning opportunities at the Riata Center.
Hosted by the OSU School of Entrepreneurship and the Riata Center, the competition
is open to OSU students from any discipline with or without business experience. Competitors
compete by writing and entering a 10-page business plan for their venture.
The Riata Center helps students turn their ideas into award-winning pitches
for competitions all over the country. From apps to food innovations and individual
and team competitions, Riata has the resources to guide students to success.
The Riata Startup Experience (RSX) is a three-phase program for OSU students, faculty,
staff and alumni entrepreneurs interested in pursuing a business idea or growing an
existing venture. Each phase is designed to develop a business or concept via learning
opportunities, one-on-one coaching and university and external competitions.
The national program offers cutting edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship
and small business management to members of the U.S. armed forces who are disabled
as a result of their service. Veterans develop competencies associated with creating and sustaining a business while
learning to coordinate with services for veterans and others with disabilities. The
Veterans Entrepreneurial Program is free to participants thanks to generous supporters.
The Riata Center is a clearinghouse for a world of resources for not only students
in the School of Entrepreneurship but also for any OSU student with a concept for
a venture who just needs some direction. Resources include hands-on opportunities
and events to connect and network with successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.
