Supporting the student entrepreneur
The Riata Center for Entrepreneurship is a state-of-the-art entrepreneurship center
and the catalyst for entrepreneurial education, support, and outreach for OSU students, faculty, staff,
alumni, and the state of Oklahoma. The center delivers high-quality experiential learning activities
in and out of the classroom in collaboration with the School of Entrepreneurship and a community of
on-and off- campus partners.
OSU students interested in the venture creation process can gain hands-on experiences
through the Riata Center’s experiential learning opportunities led by a variety of
industry experts, successful entrepreneurs, faculty, and staff.
The Riata Center helps students turn their ideas into award-winning pitches for competitions
all over the country. From apps to food innovations and individual and team competitions,
Riata has the resources to guide students to success.
The Riata Startup Experience (RSX) is a three-phase program for OSU students, faculty,
staff, and alumni entrepreneurs interested in pursuing the venture creation process.
Each phase is designed to develop a concept or grow an existing venture via learning
opportunities, one-on-one coaching, and university and external competitions.
The Greiner Summer Business Accelerator is an 8-week program designed for selected
participants to work on their businesses under the close supervision of Riata Center
staff, School of Entrepreneurship faculty, and external mentors. The goal of the program
is to drive the new venture startup process for students while increasing their chance
of success. Three to five students/teams will be selected each summer to focus their
time on building their companies.
The national program offers cutting edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship
and small business management to members of the U.S. armed forces who are disabled
as a result of their service. Veterans develop competencies associated with creating and sustaining a business while
learning to coordinate with services for veterans and others with disabilities. The
Veterans Entrepreneurial Program is free to participants thanks to generous supporters.
The Riata Center is a clearinghouse for a world of resources for any OSU student with
a concept for a venture who just needs some direction. Resources include hands-on
opportunities and events to connect and network with successful entrepreneurs and
