Research Brief and Faculty Interest

Our faculty is large and diverse. We currently have 16 members. The faculty has five full professors, five associate professors, and six assistant professors. Our faculty are generally research active and publish regularly in high quality marketing journals. About fifty-percent of our faculty have publications in marketing’s tier one journals. This includes articles appearing Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Consumer Behavior. Additionally, two of our faculty currently serve as Associate Editors at marketing field journals. Faculty are generally active in professional associations serving as chairs, co-chairs, track chairs, session chairs, and or reviewers for nationally visible conferences in our field.

Our department can be characterized as “behavioral” researchers in the broadest sense of the term. Within this broad area, our faculty study managerial behavior, consumer/customer behavior, and public policy/social marketing. The specific research carried out crosses a broad swath of marketing. As a result, our faculty has collectively a wide breadth of experience and interest in marketing phenomena. This permits doctoral students with a wide range of interests to receive mentoring and collaborate on research with an area expert. Because doctoral students often do not know what their specific area of interest is until they begin study, the student can/should feel confident that they can develop in the direction of their greatest interest.
