Student resources

Watson Trading Floor

The Watson Trading Floor, established in 2001, got a new, state-of-the-art look when the Business Building opened in 2018. Finance classes meet in the classroom where students have access to Bloomberg terminals that provide opportunities to gain hands-on experience in financial and commodity trading systems, risk management and financial analysis.

Student Managed Investment Fund

The Student Managed Investment Fund allows students the opportunity to gain real-world experience managing a portfolio of financial assets. Through coursework, students apply financial theories and models learned in class to the real world.

Students in Spears Business have the opportunity to apply for a number of different scholarships. The same application is used to apply for most of these endowed or yearly scholarships.

Student organizations

Spears Business students have the opportunity to participate in more than 30 student organizations, including the Financial Management Association (FMA) and the OSU Investment Banking Club.

Finance Lab

Students have access to Bloomberg terminals in the Finance Lab, located on the second floor of the Business Building. Open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Closed Weekends. Contact Kim Brown
