Welcome! The School of Marketing and International Business serves one of the largest
student bodies on the OSU campus and is home to experienced and dedicated professors,
who have a national reputation for scholarship and teaching excellence. The Department
is home to both the Marketing and International Business undergraduate degree programs, the graduate level Business Analytics certificate programs, and the Ph.D. program in Marketing. We are also the home of the Center for Social and Service Marketing and the Center for Customer Interface Excellence.
Marketing is an exciting career. As a marketing major you join one of the most popular
majors at OSU and at most universities. The reasons for this popularity are many.
There are many job opportunities for marketing majors. It has been estimated that
marketing and marketing related jobs constitute about 30 percent of all U.S. jobs.
Marketing careers provide a wide variety of activities, significant responsibility
and tremendous opportunities to interact professionally with other people. A marketing
career is often considered one of the best training grounds to the top level of corporations.
For students wishing to prepare themselves for globally-oriented careers, the international
business major is an ideal choice. The international business major provides a grounding
in foundational international business courses but also provides the flexibility for
students to specialize in the geographic or regional areas of their highest interest.
Students majoring in international business often take advantage of the significant
resources OSU makes available to students for study abroad and or international internships.
The faculty and the university provide the foundation for learning in the classroom.
However, the degree of learning and professional development that you achieve is up
to you. Take advantage of every opportunity to excel. Work hard in your classes. Get
involved in significant extracurricular activities. If you work part-time, try to
