Year-by-Year at the Craft Beer Forum of Oklahoma
The Craft Beer Forum of Oklahoma returned in 2022 and was a rousing success thanks to the support of the event’s sponsors and passionate participants. More than 25 breweries from across the region participated in the day’s celebration, which included educational seminars hosted by master brewers and the OSU School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Joel Irby, owner of Stonecloud Brewing Co., was the honorary chair of the event, and Brian Welzbacher, author of Oklahoma Beer: A Handcrafted History, served as the keynote speaker.
The 2020 Craft Beer Forum was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, winners were chosen and you can see the list here.
Eric Marshall, founder of Marshall Brewing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, served as the inaugural honorary chair of the Craft Beer Forum of Oklahoma. This initial event saw 23 local, regional and national breweries gather in the North Wing of the Human Sciences Building to salute the 98 students who put on the spectacular show that is the Craft Beer Forum of Oklahoma. Chris White from White Labs and Bob Van Mechlen of Chimay Brewery served as Keynote Speakers along with Craft Beer pioneers Elliot Nelson (McNellie’s Group) and Eric Marshall on an unforgettable panel. Other notable highlights included sessions on Spontaneous Fermentation, Craft Beer Mixology, International Beer Styles, Cheese and Beer Pairings, Cooking with Craft Beer, Hop Talk, Detecting Beer Faults and an introductory session for those getting their feet wet in the world of Craft Beer!
