CHSI is filling the gap

in Oklahoma healthcare
Approximately 75 million US citizens, representing over 20% of the population, and over 1 million Oklahomans, representing over 30% of the population, live in rural areas. These populations live with inadequate health care, poor access and inferior outcomes when compared to their urban counterparts. This makes the rural markets America’s largest health disparity zone.

Real change

for rural and Native Oklahomans
Our mission is to transform rural and Native American health through the implementation of innovative care delivery and predictive analytic solutions. The Center is focused on not only innovating solutions but, more importantly, implementing those innovations.

The Center operates in these areas:

Healthcare Delivery Innovation: This group focuses on wellness, mental health and clinic efficiency.

OSU Health Access Network: This group provides case management for high-risk SoonerCare Choice patients.

Data Analytics: This group focuses on data mining and predictive medicine.

Our focal point * do we want to keep this content?

is rural primary care and Native American health
Data analytics manages and mines one of the largest HIPAA compliant relational databases to better understand the practice of medicine, leverage the wealth of patient data for improved outcomes and to build predictive health models. Additionally, we also partner with research facilities, corporations, health providers, agencies and academic institutions as well as utilize social media, Oklahoma and National health data and other public data sources to increase the amount and diversity of our data. OSU is a land grant institution with a long record of improving the lives of rural Oklahoma.
