Welcome to the Inaugural Spears Business Undergraduate Case Competition where students have the opportunity to win up to $7,500 in scholarships. Work with peers to tackle a real world problem facing ISN leadership, while building your analytical, critical thinking and communication skills. Gain an insight into the emerging enviromental trends and have an opportunity to win scholarship prizes. In partnership with ISN and the Spears Alumni Society.


This year’s competition will be a virtual event, with finalist teams having the opportunity to present via Zoom before an alumni panel. Register by March 25

Case Analysis

Your team will prepare its ISN case recommendation as a:

  • Video presentation - no more than 10 minutes and recorded through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar program. The presentation should include the highlights and justifications of your decisions. All members of the team should contribute during the presentation.
  • AND Executive Summary - no more than 2 single-spaced written pages plus any additional tables or figures. This document should illustrate the important aspects of your proposal.


Scholarships for winning teams

  • First place: $4,000
  • Second place: $2,000
  • Third place : $1,000
  • Other finalists: $500 



March 25: Case is emailed to registered teams.

April 5: Case submission due.

April 12: Team finalists are announced.

April 14/15: Finalist present via Zoom to alumni panel.

April 16: Winners announced at the Honors and Awards Celebration.



  1. The competition is open to undergraduate students who are Spears Business majors.

  2. Each team must consist of 4 Spears students and represent at least two Spears majors.

  3. The case will be available March 25 and due April 4. Teams have 10 days to work on the case.

Finalists must be available on April 14 and 15 for Zoom with alumni judging panel to qualify for team scholarships.
