The Eastin Center helps Spears Business students land jobs and begin impactful careers. Located on the first floor of the Business Building, students can find dedicated career resources to get them where they want to be. Get your resume reviewed, schedule a mock interview or a career readiness appointment. The Eastin Center team is here to help you gain the skills needed to engage in real-world experiences and launch a successful career.

Visit us at BU 155 for a scheduled appointment with a career coach or M-F from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. for walk-in hours. Students can schedule an appointment below.


MEET WITH A CAREER COACH

Preparing for success

What does it mean to prepare well? Below you can find a guideline for career readiness to follow each year at OSU. The Eastin Center for Career Readiness is with you step by step!

  1. Freshman year: Building a strong foundation

    Create a resume using the Eastin Center Resume Guide and meet with an Eastin Center team member for feedback.
    Activate and complete your HireOSUgrads profile and create a LinkedIn profile with a professional headshot.
    Attend the Spears Business Career Discovery Expo and Career Fairs to explore potential career paths.
    Complete a career assessment and meet with an Eastin Center career coach to connect career and major interests.
  2. Sophomore year: Developing professional skills

    Update your resume, LinkedIn and HireOSUgrads profiles.
    Purchase business professional attire and participate in a mock interview.
    Begin building your professional network by attending career fairs and meeting alumni through the Spears Network.
    Meet with Eastin center coaches to create a Career Readiness Plan.
  3. Junior year: Gaining real-world experience

    Pursue internships and discuss opportunities with an Eastin Center career coach.
    Update career search materials and continue building your professional network.
    Participate in on-campus interviews and career events to sharpen your networking skills.
    Use the Spears Network to connect with mentors for industry insights.
  4. Senior year: Launching your career

    Refine your resume, LinkedIn and HireOSUgrads profiles.
    Seek faculty references and participate in Eastin Center events like Mock Interview Day.
    Focus on job search strategies with a career coach and if considering grad school, prepare for entrance exams and applications.
    Attend career fairs and leverage the Spears Network for career advice.

At the Eastin Center, we support each student to reach their own potential. Our mission is to guide and support our students so that they are prepared to pursue professional opportunities, practice continued growth and find success following graduation.

The Eastin Center assists with job searches, career fairs, interview preparation, resume and cover letter writing skills, development of career competencies and professional mentoring as well as offering employers the opportunity to engage with our students.

Spears Network

Powered by The Eastin Center for Career Readiness
The network is managed through the Eastin Center and connects students to experienced business mentors who can contribute to their professional and personal development. Students and mentors will meet with each other one on one. The knowledgeable and successful mentors act as role models who provide career guidance and industry insight.
