I chose Spears Business for my Doctorate of Business Administration because of its long-standing tradition of excellence and its hybrid format designed for working professionals. After serving nearly 13 years in the U.S. Army and continuing my career in academia, I wanted a program that would challenge me intellectually while remaining achievable alongside full-time work. The Spears DBA provided exactly that balance. There are many DBA and Executive PhD programs across the country, but none compare to the accessibility and academic rigor that OSU offers. Being part of an R1 research university and an AACSB-accredited institution made my decision even clearer. After completing my DBA, I plan to continue my work in higher education and expand my entrepreneurial ventures. This program enhanced my ability to analyze knowledge, interpret data, synthesize research, and translate insights into real-world solutions. As Philippians 4:13 reminds me, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” That verse perfectly captures my experience in the Spears DBA program, where faith, perseverance, and purpose come together to make the impossible achievable.

The OSU DBA program seemed like the best program to fit my current chaotic work schedule. The program’s hybrid structure allows me to participate in engaging online coursework while still benefiting from valuable face-to-face interactions during on-campus residencies. Most programs are usually limited to either full-time, in-person formats or entirely online. This program’s hybrid structure is uniquely designed to meet the needs of executive professionals, offering both flexibility and meaningful engagement in which caught my attention.
