What are online courses like?
OSU online courses are the same content as our on-campus courses. The amount of time needed to dedicate to the class is the same as well. Typical courses are 16 weeks with some shorter courses. OSU faculty connect with online students and provide various ways to engage through assignments, discussion and group work. Communication with your professors is easy through email, phone or virtual conferencing. OSU provides many support services to online students.
- What is Canvas?
Most classes are taught through the Canvas learning management system. Canvas is a cloud-based system that is set up with each of your courses with links to lectures, assignments and other learning activities, quizzes and tests. Access Canvas at Canvas.okstate.edu or through the OSU portal at my.okstate.edu. There you will see your courses listed on the dashboard. Learn more about Canvas features to help you stay on track!

What makes OSU Online + Spears programs different from others?
Spears Business online course delivery is unique in that you receive studio-produced lecture videos/multimedia, unlike text-based degree programs. Courses are delivered through internet streaming with lectures available for download. The Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence makes this possible.
- What is the Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence?Located in the Business Building, the Greenwood Center for Online Excellence facilitates course delivery. The center houses the studio where Spears Business faculty record lecture videos, which are produced and made available to students worldwide. Visit the webpage to learn more.

I’m having trouble viewing a lecture. What do I do?
Contact the Greenwood Center for Online Excellence and request video lecture tech support. Please provide your course information and the video title along with pertinent information about the issue. If you’re unable to stream video lectures or download the files, lectures can be placed on a flash drive and mailed to you by UPS. Please contact the Greenwood Center if you choose to pursue this option.
