Spears School of Business

The Spears School of Business will host its first Global Week, a five-day series of events from Oct. 5-9 celebrating the school's international reach and showcasing the global opportunities available to students.

The week is organized by the Center for Advanced Global Leadership and Engagement (CAGLE) and will feature panels, cultural experiences, resume workshops and guest speakers across campus.

Global Week will open Monday with a kickoff event at 9 a.m. in the BOK Financial Lobby, followed by a CAGLE Experience Panel the same day. Events throughout the week include a passport photo session, a global sabbatical panel, daily cuisine tastings from Southern Italy at Taylor's Restaurant, and speaker series covering international careers in accounting and investment banking.

The week's headline event comes Wednesday, Oct. 7, when Mark Wynne, vice president and associate director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, delivers the Global Week keynote address from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Union Little Theater.

Wynne has spent more than three decades at the Dallas Fed, where he has advised the Bank's president on national and international economic conditions and led the Bank's international economics group. His research spans fiscal policy, business cycle drivers, inflation measurement and the workings of monetary unions, and has appeared in leading peer-reviewed journals and Federal Reserve publications. He co-edited "The Federal Reserve's Role in the Global Economy: A Historical Perspective" with Michael D. Bordo, published by Cambridge University Press in 2016. Wynne has also taught at University College Dublin, the University of Rochester, Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas at Dallas, and holds a PhD in economics from the University of Rochester.
