March 11-19, 2023

Join us this spring break as we explore the natural wonders and sustainable businesses of Iceland, an island of fire and ice! Throughout this experience, we will discover volcanoes, glaciers, and waterfalls! We will learn about the importance of the Icelandic Horses, and explore what sustainability means for the local business practices. In Reykjavik, we will be visiting local companies to gather a better understanding of how the physical landscape of the country affects the business landscape!
*Spears Business will be following and enforcing COVID vaccination and/or testing requirements based on the regulations of the destination of travel including partners providing the services.

Course Options: 3 credit hours from one of the following: BADM 4093 (I), 5093, 4050, 5200; HTM 4090 (I) and MKTG 4550 (I)
On Campus Meeting Dates:
First Pre-Departure meeting: February 7, 5:30-7 p.m.
Orientation meeting: February 10 (time to be confirmed)
Second Pre-Departure meeting: February 25, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Third Pre-Departure meeting: March 4, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. 
Fourth Pre-Departure meeting: April 8, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Airfare
    • Estimated roundtrip airfare from/to Oklahoma is $1600

    • It is your responsibility to purchase your own ticket

    • CAGLE could assist in organizing your air travel 

    • All accepted students will receive the faculty and/or staff’s flight information as soon as the faculty’s flight is booked

    • It is suggested that you DO NOT book your flight until you receive this information so you are able to arrive with or around the same time as the faculty and staff for transportation reasons

    • For this program, you should fly into and out of Keflavik (KEF)

     

    Earlier arrival or later departure:

    • If you choose to arrive before the program start date or leave after the program end date you will be on your own for transportation to and from the airport as well as for additional accommodation arrangement and costs

    • Installments will be charged to your bursar account as shown in the Payment Schedule

  • COVID related information
    • The COVID Vaccination is highly encouraged when traveling with CAGLE, and may be required depending on the regulations of the destination of the program.
    • All costs associated with COVID testing, quarantine requirements, or trip cancellations due to lack of having the vaccine or testing positive for COVID will fall on the student. We highly encourage all students traveling with CAGLE to purchase additional insurance that will cover these situations.
    • Please note that with ongoing COVID-related circumstances in multiple countries, The CAGLE reserves the right to amend the program itinerary and details as needed.

ALL PAYMENTS INCLUDING APPLICATION FEE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

*We strongly encourage purchasing Cancel For Any Reason Insurance to cover any cancellation installments and flights you might incur in the event you are unable to travel. See CAGLE staff for further details.

*A $50 NON-REFUNDABLE Application fee will be charged to your bursar once the application has been submitted.

*Installment amounts are charged on the dates listed in the payment schedule and are included in the total price of the trip, however, if you choose to not attend the trip for any reason the installments WILL NOT BE REFUNDED if the dates have passed.

Airfare to and from the program site is not covered in the payment installments; it is the students’ responsibility to purchase their own tickets.

 

*NOTE: If the installment charge dates above have passed when applying and submitting the application, all charges (Application fee, 1st Installment, 2nd Installment, and Final Installment) will be applied to your bursar and will be NON-REFUNDABLE.*If you withdraw through the CAGLE (101 Business Building or spearsabroad@okstate.edu) after the installment charge date(s), listed above, these WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
