Camden Grizzle, Spears Business freshman, travelled 1,548 miles from her hometown in East Lyme, Connecticut, to attend Oklahoma State University. The Spears Business marketing and communications team wanted to get to know what drew Camden to OSU as she is one of three Spears freshman students who are more than 23 hours away from home. Check out how she responded!

Why did you choose to come to OSU?

Originally, I was apprehensive of going to school in Oklahoma until my mom made me tour OSU. I fell in love with the campus and the sense of community. Both sides of my family are from Oklahoma, and my parents met in high school in Chickasha. I liked the idea of being close to family for college. I also really liked the dorms compared to schools in New England I was looking at.

What is your major and what are your future career goals?

My current major is marketing. I am considering double majoring in graphic design as well. I'm not sure what kind of job I am looking for, but I enjoy making designs/logos.

What do you like about OSU so far?

I love how easy it is to get involved at OSU. I am in Zeta Tau Alpha and I have really enjoyed being a part of Greek life. There are so many different clubs and organizations for everyone.

What’s the biggest difference between your hometown and Stillwater?

The biggest difference between Stillwater and my hometown, East Lyme, Connecticut, is definitely the heat and humidity. I am not acclimated to the 90-100 degree weather.
