At Spears Business, preparing students for success means emphasizing personal relationships and interpersonal competencies right alongside teaching high-quality technical business skills. Called the “Power of Personal,” the approach begins with a Spears Business community that takes this personal approach to heart.
In every department and office within the school, resources are available to help students meet their educational and career goals.

Centers & offices

Chesapeake Energy Business Student Success Center

The Chesapeake Energy Business Student Success Center believes in a holistic approach to advising, beginning with prospective students who are interested in programs through Spears Business. Students and their assigned advisors explore majors and career options and create an academic plan of action. Advisors serve as student mentors and advocates.

Eastin Center for Career Readiness

The center’s mission is to guide and support Spears Business students as they prepare to pursue professional opportunities and practice continued growth. Eastin Center career services provide help through areas such as job searches and career fairs, interview preparation, resume and cover letter writing skills, development of core competencies, professional mentoring and other topics.

Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence

Spears Business offers online learning courses and programs as an alternative way to earn a degree. Online degree programs help you meet your educational goals, whether you’re a working professional looking to earn a graduate degree while continuing your current job or a student working around a schedule conflict.

Watson Graduate School of Management

The best source for information about Spears Business graduate education and degree programs is the Watson Graduate School of Management. A graduate degree in business prepares students academically to achieve in a variety of fields while the Career Services Office prepares you for success inside and outside the boardroom.

The CAGLE Center

The CAGLE Center is the hub of Spears Business international initiatives and provides a number of short-term, faculty-led international travel programs for course credit. All courses are taught by Spears faculty and directly apply to a business degree program.

Riata Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Riata Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the catalyst for entrepreneurial education, support and outreach for OSU. Working with on- and off-campus partners, the center delivers high-quality experiential learning activities in and out of the classroom.

Mathematics Learning Success Center

The MLSC offers free tutoring for OSU and NOC students in all 1000 and 2000 level MATH courses and Linear Algebra. 

OSU Writing Center

The Oklahoma State Writing Center helps you understand and practice many strategies effective writers use—from brainstorming to drafting to editing techniques.

Statistics Learning and Instructional Center

The SLIC, offered by the OSU Department of Statistics, can help with undergraduate statistics classes. 

LASSO

The LASSO Center’s Tutoring Program is a service offering one-on-one tutoring to any student on campus needing assistance.

Other student support services

Spears Peers

Find your place at Spears Business with Spears Peers. Whether you're a new student, transfer student, first generation student, or out-of-state student, we can connect you with the students who know Spears the best. The Spears Peers will work with you to navigate classes and the social aspects of college to help you find your place and get involved with your interests.

Student organizations

There are more than 30 student organizations associated with the Spears School of Business. Many of these are related to specific majors, while others are honor societies. Joining a student organization can begin a process of networking that will lead you to a more successful college experience and help launch your career.

Undergraduate scholarships

Students in Spears Business have the opportunity to apply for a number of different scholarships. The Dean’s Office (370 Business Building) accepts applications for the annual scholarship program for continuing students at the end of the fall semester.

Business Building breakout room reservations

Need a room in the Business Building for a student group meeting or study session? Make a reservation for one of eight breakout rooms with seating from five to 12 people.

Computer labs

A perk of being a Spears Business student is access to computer labs in the Business Building during regular operating hours.

Canvas: your portal to online learning

Most classes will be taught through the university’s learning management system, Canvas.
