General Requirements

All entries must be original work by team members or properly licensed third-party content. Non-compliant submissions will be disqualified.

 

Poster Guidelines

  • File name format: SIE_CompanyName.pdf
  • Dimensions: Up to 18” x 24”, portrait or landscape
  • Format: PDF only, submitted via this link: https://wkf.ms/4oIvzhi
  • Design: Clear, visually engaging, and self-explanatory

     

    Additional Notes:

    • Poster edits will not be accepted after the submission deadline.
    • Participants are encouraged to present their ideas and engage with guests.
    • Props may be used to enhance presentations.

Setting Custom Slide Dimensions in PowerPoint
 

  1.   Open Microsoft PowerPoint and start a Blank Presentation.
  2.   Navigate to the Design
  3.   Click Slide Size(located on the far right), then select Custom Slide Size.
  4.   Set the dimensions to 18 x 24 inches.
  5.   Choose your preferred orientation: Portrait or Landscape.

 

Poster specific content

Posters should include the following data points. Additional data points not listed below can be provided within the length guidelines. 

 

  • Business Name/Overview/Team
      • Describe the business in 1-2 sentences.
      • Use a logo, pictures, and graphics wherever possible.
      • List key team members, including affiliation and education.
      • What is it going to take for you to turn this idea into a reality?
  • What is the Problem/Opportunity?
    • What problem will your business address?
    • Is this currently an unmet need in the market?
    • Approximately how many people experience this problem?
  • What is your Solution?
    • How will your business idea help solve the problem?
    • How does it address a specific need?
    • What are the benefits?
  • How do you make Money?
    • Who is the user, and who is the buyer? (i.e., decision-maker)
    • How do you connect with the buyer? (Retail location, sales team, distributor)
    • What does your revenue model look like? (Subscription, retail, B2B) Hard figures are not necessary but are encouraged.
  • Who are your customers?
    • Who are the primary consumers of the product?
    • What/Who is your target market?
    • Describe the buyer of your product/service?
    • How will you reach them?
  • How is it Different?
    • Is there someone already doing the same thing?
    • If so, how is your solution different?
    • What are your customers currently using to solve the problem?
