General requirements

  • All submitted work must be the original work of the team members or appropriately licensed work of others. Any submission that does not meet these requirements will be eliminated from the competition.
  • Posters must adhere to the following format:
      • Uploaded as: RBPC_CompanyName_Exec.pdf.
      • Maximum poster size can be up to 18"x 24"  in either portrait or landscape orientation.
      • Must be visually attractive. (Legible, self-explanatory, etc.)
      • Must be submitted in PDF format through riata@okstate.edu
  • Edits to posters will not be accepted after the submission deadline.
  • Contestants are encouraged to “pitch” their ideas to guests and answer questions that may have.
  • Props may be used for visual aid.

 

Poster setup in PowerPoint

  • Open Microsoft Ppt.
  • Select “Blank Presentation”
  • Select “Design” from the top options bar menu.
  • Select “Slide Size” located on the far right.
  • Select “Custom Slide Show”
  • Update the Slide Show Size (18 x 24)
  • Choose either “Portrait” or “Landscape” (your decision)

 

Poster specific content

  • Posters should include the following data points. Additional data points not listed below can be provided within the length guidelines.
    • Business name/overview/team
      • Describe the business in 1-2 sentences.
      • Use a logo, pictures and graphics wherever possible.
      • List key team members including affiliation and education.
      • What is it going to take for you to turn this idea into a reality?
    • What is the problem/opportunity?
      • What problem will your business address?
      • Is this currently an unmet need in the market?
      • Approximately how many people experience this problem?
    • What is your solution?
      • How will your business idea help solve the problem?
      • How does it address a specific need?
      • What are the benefits?
    • How do you make money?
      • Who is the user, and who is the buyer? (i.e., decision-maker)
      • How do you connect with the buyer? (Retail location, sales team, distributor)
      • What does your revenue model look like? (Subscription, retail, B2B)  Hard figures are not necessary, but encouraged.
    • Who are your customers?
      • Who are the primary consumers of the product?
      • Describe the buyer of your product/service?
      • How will you reach them?
    • How is it different?
      • Is there someone already doing the same thing?
      • If so, how is your solution different?
      • What are your customers currently using to solve the problem?
