Dr. Goutam Chakraborty, director of the business analytics and data science program at Oklahoma State University, was announced as a Top 10 Data and Analytics Professional Award winner during the virtual 2022 OnCon Icon Awards on July 12, 2022.

 

The OnCon Icon Awards are hosted yearly by OnConferences, a community of top executives in leading industries. The award recognizes the top data and analytics professional in the world who have made a considerable impact on their organization, made strong contributions to their professional community, are innovators and exhibit exceptional leadership. Finalists are selected by the OnConference team based on application and nomination and then winners are selected by a vote of their peers.

 

Chakraborty earned his master’s in statistics and Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Iowa. Prior to that he attended the Indian Institute of Technology for mechanical engineering and the Indian Institute of Management. He came to Oklahoma State University in 1991 and has taught more than 25 different upper-level courses and has been recognized with numerous awards including the Executive Program Professor of the Year and the Kenneth D. and Leitner Greiner Teaching Excellence Award, both of which he has earned multiple times.
