New MBAA officers selected

Students in Oklahoma State University’s MBA program recently elected new MBAA (Master’s of Business Administration Association) officers.
The process began on Sept. 14 when MBAs were asked to nominate themselves for an officer position. Elections took place from Sept. 23-30 with ballots being cast by MBA students via email. The results were announced Oct. 2:
President: Kassidy Paul
Vice President of International Affairs: Paula Saramiento
Vice President of External Relations: Sam Lewallen
Vice President of Social Affairs: Josh Parrack
Vice President of Finance: Madi Gustin
Co-Vice President of Campus Representation: Amy O’Brien
Co-Vice President of Campus Representation: Hayden Bonine
2019-2020 MBAA President Brittany Laub conducted the election process and took charge of facilitating a handover meeting via Zoom with both the 2019-20 officers and 2020-21 officers.
“Whether or not students ran for a position, my message is to stay motivated and be involved with the program while they’re here as an OSU MBA student,” Laub said via email. “It is my hope that all students graduate from the program feeling fulfilled and gainfully employed!”
The newly minted officer team held its first official meeting on Oct. 12. Topics included goals for the officer team, strategies for increasing student collaboration and networking, among others.
“We’ve got a really smart, ambitious team,” Bonine said. “Probably most encouraging is the actionability of the ideas we’ve come up with. We’ve set realistic goals and have already put our plans into motion to make them happen. I’m proud to be a part of this team.”
The MBAA holds meetings twice a month and has engaged with university faculty on how to best implement student involvement activities amid COVID-19 protocols.
