Edward Jones Scholars Fund

The Edward Jones Scholars fund was established by generous gifts from 35 financial advisors from the state of Oklahoma. Their gifts were matched by the Edward Jones Foundation. The current amount awarded annually is $2500-$5000. There is a possibility of more than one winner. The scholarship is awarded annually to the candidate who shows excellence in one or more of the following categories:

Volunteerism and civic involvement

Thought Leadership and program implementation
-
Performance in each field of course work or extracurricular activities.

Leadership, work experience or successes in current or past employment.
All current students at OSU are eligible to compete for the annual award. The award can be attained more than once. The award will be made each spring semester. The scholarship deadline is Monday, April 15, 2024. The application consists of a written essay. All applications will have a current resume as well as a current transcript. Please limit your essay to 1500 words and be concise. Build the essay around the following format. Intro, Experience, Community improvement/impact and what you learned? What will you change?
The following are examples of questions you can answer in your essay:

What have you accomplished during your tenure at OSU that has improved the Stillwater and/or Oklahoma communities.

Give an example of a time that you dealt with adversity.

Share a story about your community involvement. Share your passion as well as your involvement.

Discuss a project that you have worked on that led to change and implementation of your ideas.

Discuss your research and how you have been recognized.
-
Discuss your success in your given field and how you have been recognized.
-
Discuss experiences and what you have learned from working while being a student.
