What is marketing?

Marketing is fundamentally about building relationships and trust to help customers solve their problems in ways that benefit everyone. In the course of doing this, marketers do research, use analytics, create and manage many types of communication, engage in and manage professional selling, determine pricing strategies and develop distribution channels.

Why marketing at OSU?

From startups to large corporations, firms need marketers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor predicts faster than average growth for marketing manager jobs through 2029. Marketers play an important and strategic role in the organizations they serve, from helping determine strategic direction, providing key leadership, engaging customers, driving revenue to launching innovative new products and services. Our faculty members bring their knowledge and experience into the classroom, equipping students to think critically about all aspects of marketing.
