Are you like me and need a place to study outside of your room or house, away from roommates and distractions? When I start studying, I like to be in a place where I am in the mindset and atmosphere of business, rather than comfort. I am unable to focus on lecture videos, take notes or write an essay in bed or on the couch. Truthfully, I either get distracted by my phone, start online shopping or fall asleep.

If you are like me, here are the places I’ve come across in my 17 years in Stillwater that are the best places to study.

  1. Business Building - Open Sunday-Friday
  • Study rooms in the basement. Here is a link to reserve a room - my favorite rooms are 078 and 080 because they have big tables!
  • Keystone Lobby. Center area in the middle of 1st floor of the Business Building. They also have tables available with outlets underneath or chairs with mini tables by the windows.
  • By the coffee shop on the south side of the Business Building. They also have tables, chairs and outlets.
  • Comfy chairs on the second floor on the south side (directly above the coffee shop) and around the corner.
  • Fourth floor in the center by the staircase. It’s pretty secluded and has chairs, outlets and tables. My go-to spot!

2. Student Union - Open on the weekends

  • Second floor. By campus life student offices.
  • Fourth floor. Behind the elevators and by the Starlight Terrace.

Both of these places have huge tables with outlets.

3.  Edmon Low Library

  • Here is a link to the floor maps. You can see which floors are for group study (floors 1-3), silent zones (floor 4), and whisper zones (floor 5), where vending machines and bathrooms are, etc. Here is a link to reserve a study room in Edmon Low.

4. Coffee shops - all have free wifi

These are the top 4 places that I have found to help me get my assignments turned in, discussion posts submitted, essays written and tests studied for. Tag us on Instagram if you try any of these out! @Spearsschoolofbusiness
