Two Oklahoma State University business analytics students received scholarships to participate at the recent 2022 INFORMS Business Analytics Conference in Houston.

Srujana Daggubati and Tuan Le, second-year students in the OSU Masters in Business Analytics and Data Science program, received Early Career Professionals’ Network (ECPN) scholarships and showcased their research at the conference April 3-5.

Daggubati’s abstract “Developing an Analytical Dashboard to Improve Restaurant Performance” was originally submitted as part of the Fall 2021 RMDS Data Science competition and was accepted for this year’s INFORMS conference.

“It was an honor earning the nomination for the ECPN workshop and I had an enriching experience interacting with a diverse panel of experts in IT and Data Science,” Daggubati said.

“During a networking lunch, I had interactions with the INFORMS President and General Chair. It was a memorable discussion regarding their association with INFORMS, significant industry trends post COVID and my post-graduation plans.”

Le’s poster “Predicting Covid-19 Tweets Sentiment with SAS Enterprise Miner and SAS Sentiment Analysis Studio” was also accepted at the conference.

“This ECPN workshop is specifically tailored toward recent graduates or anyone newly entering the field of analytics to build their professional networks and learn the practicalities of working in the field from experienced practitioners,” he said.

Dr. Goutam Chakraborty, director of the business analytics and data science program, was pleased the students were able to attend the conference.

“I am very proud of our students who won the ECPN scholarship award at INFORMS that allowed them to attend and showcase their research at this premier analytics conference,” he said.
