Terms of Operations/Tenant Agreement

In an effort to promote experiential opportunities for learning, innovation, and student-business ownership, The Riata Center for Entrepreneurship has launched an initiative that will provide OSU students a public venue through which they will be able to test, grow, and operate their unique startups at the Oklahoma State University Student Union:

The WhiteBox!

Each individual or company that applies will propose their intended use of the space based on one of two tracks consisting of either; Research/Education or Business Operations & Sales. Proposals detailing the businesses’ intended use of the WhiteBox will be reviewed by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship’s and Student Union WhiteBox Program Committee.

The WhiteBox is intended for students who are serious about starting or growing their business and have demonstrated measures taken to launch or develop said business.

  • OSU students currently enrolled at the time of application (full or part-time) and will maintain enrollment status for the duration of the semester to which they apply for WhiteBox tenancy.
  • Current member of the Riata Incubator Program (candidates who are not current members of the must apply and be accepted before being considered for the WhiteBox Program)
  • Candidates are required to participate in the fall semester’s Riata Pitch & Poster Competition.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to set goals in consultation with the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship.
  • Candidates must submit a final detailed Findings Report of all data/research obtained while occupying the WhiteBox to Riata Center Manager/Coordinator within two weeks of exiting the WhiteBox.
  • Candidates are required to submit a proposed schedule detailing hours of operation, between three to six weeks. (unless pre-approved by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship)
  • Candidates shall be open for operation no less than three days a week and a two-hour window of time on any operating days. (tenants who are late or no-shows run the risk of termination from the WhiteBox program)
  • Candidates pursuing the Business Operations & Sales track must register for a square account and card reader.
  • Candidates agree to be held liable for the WhiteBox space, to act in a professional manner, and to comply with all OSU rules and policies at all times when occupying the WhiteBox facility.
  • Candidates agree not to allow friends of a personal nature into the WhiteBox space at any time. (contact information on all WhiteBox occupants must be supplied to the Riata Center)
  • Candidates understand that residency in the WhiteBox will be subject to review and evaluation throughout their occupancy.
  • Candidates agree to abide by all rules and regulations as laid out in the WhiteBox Membership Agreement between the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship, Oklahoma State University Student Union, and Tenant. Failure to do so can lead to immediate termination from the WhiteBox Program.
