The Riata Internship Program

The Riata Internship Program provides startups, corporate innovation centers, and small businesses with energetic workers who bring practical skills, a strong work ethic, and unique ideas to the organization. Employers have the opportunity to identify and assess potential full-time hires and gain campus visibility. Employers benefit from having a new graduate recruitment pipeline, working with potential entry-level employees prior to making a full-time commitment, reducing turnover and training among entry-level employees who were former interns, gaining supervisory experience for junior-level managers, and the flexibility of hiring additional staff during peak seasons.

Student interns may help conduct marketing research, develop business plans, complete due diligence, perform financial analysis, work on special projects, or even complete routine business tasks. However, this is also a learning experience for students. As such, in addition to assigning interns specific tasks, each host should expose the intern to different aspects of the company and train/mentor them about processes, procedures, company culture, decision-making, etc.
