Orange Friday and Logo-Wear Saturday

Friday, May 4th we encourage all attendees to wear orange, joining members of the Cowboy family across the state, the nation, and the world, who wear orange every Friday to express their loyal and true devotion to our beloved university.

Saturday, May 5th is the day to represent your school or company by wearing logo apparel from your organization.

Directors Cup Competition and Trophy

Awarded to the Cohort with the greatest percentage of graduates who participate in the reunion.  The winning cohort will be awarded the prestigious Directors Cup trophy and free registration to the reunion the following year. Points will be awarded to each cohort based on 1) attendance, 2) posters submitted, and 3) research papers submitted.

What to Expect

  • Book Signings by Drs. Adam Galinsky, Aaron Hill, and Harlan Beverly. Each of you will receive books signed by the authors
  • Panel and Open Discussions, Post-Doctoral Research Presentations, and Applied Research in Industry Presentations
  • Tour of Athletic Facilities ………… BYOM (Bring Your Own Mullet)
  • Reception and Dinner on Friday evening.  Lunch will be provided both days

Adam Galinsky
Dr. Adam Galinsky, Chair of the Management Division at Columbia Business School. He teaches people all over the world how to inspire others, speak up effectively, lead teams, and negotiate successfully. He co-authored the critically-acclaimed and best-selling book, Friend & Foe, which distills his two decades of paradigm-defining research on leadership, negotiations, diversity, decision-making, and ethics. Professor Galinsky’s TED Talk, “How to Speak Up for Yourself”, was the most watched TED Talk the week it was released and had over 3 million views in its first seven months. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and research. In recognition of the quality of his teaching and research, he was selected as one of the World’s 50 Best B-School Professors by Poets and Quants (2012). Outside of academia, he has served as a legal expert in multiple defamation lawsuits, including a trial where a plaintiff awarded $37 million in damages. He is the Associate Producer on four award-winning documentaries, including Horns and Halos and Battle for Brooklyn, which were both shortlisted for Best Documentary at the Academy Awards.
Aaron Hill
Dr. Aaron D. Hill, Associate Professor of Management and William S. Spears Chair in Business Administration at Oklahoma State University. His research interests include the personal characteristics, compensation, and job mobility of executives. Aaron’s research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, and Strategic Organization, among others. He is an active member of SMS, serving on the advisory panel for the Research Methods Community and as a Representative at Large in the Strategic Leadership & Governance Interest Group. Aaron also currently serves on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, and Strategic Organization. He received his PhD from Oklahoma State University
Lee Manzer
Dr. Lee Manzer, Professor, School of Marketing and International Business at Oklahoma State University. Professor Manzer is a nationally recognized expert on service implementation and has presented service quality, goal setting, and leadership seminars to over 300 profit and not-for-profit organizations, reaching over 60,000 individuals. These organizations include energy and petrochemical companies, manufacturing firms, financial institutions, and public service agencies. Lee has taught over 23,000 students at OSU and annually serves as an academic and career advisor to 80-100 undergraduate students; six of his advisees have been named the outstanding male or female graduate of the university. He has received 14 teaching awards for his work with undergraduate students, including school and university level recognition. Manzer received his Ph.D., MBA and BA from Oklahoma State University.
Adrian Ward
Dr. Adrian Ward, Marketing Professor, at the University of Texas at Austin. Professor Ward has led many studies focused on the way the internet has transformed how we find and understand information. He is a master investigator of what happens when old cognitive systems interact with new technology to influence consumer behavior and decision making. His findings have resulted in publications including: “The Internet Has Become the External Hard Drive for our Memories”, “Brain Drain: The Mere Presence of One’s Own Smartphone Reduces Available Cognitive Capacity”, and “Supernormal: How the Internet is Changing Our Memories and Our Minds.”

The Atherton Hotel is on the campus of Oklahoma State University, where reunion events will be held. Room rate is $105 (includes breakfast). You must call directly to make your reservation / Front Desk 405-744-6835 and ask for the ‘Alumni Reunion PhD’ Room Rate of $105. They will also provide free shuttle service to/from the Stillwater Airport. You must let the Front Desk know in advance if you will be needing shuttle service including dates/times.

Home2 Suites by Hilton is located approx. 1.2 miles/3 minute drive or 25 minute walk to/from the OSU campus. Room rate is $89 (includes breakfast). You must call directly to make your reservation / Front Desk 405-372-2550 or email Monica Wright at and ask for the ‘Alumni Reunion PhD’ Room Rate of $89. There is free parking on-site. They DO NOT offer shuttle service.

Best Western Plus Cimarron Hotel & Suites is located approx. 1.2 miles/3 minute drive or 19 minute walk to/from the OSU campus. Room rate is $89 (includes breakfast). You must call directly to make your reservation / Front Desk 405-372-2878 or email Reggie Richardson / GM at and ask for the ‘Alumni Reunion PhD’ Room Rate of $89. They will also provide free shuttle to/from the Student Union and the Stillwater Airport. You must let the Front Desk 24 hours in advance if you will be needing shuttle services including dates/times.

Each of you are responsible for making your own travel and overnight arrangements. Do not procrastinate making your overnight reservations. Hotel rooms sell out quickly in Stillwater and the blocks of rooms/rates at each of the hotels expire mid-April. Additional hotels in the Stillwater area can be found at Parking for the reunion is available in the Student Union Parking Garage.

Fly into Stillwater (SWO) via American Airlines!  See for flight information.  You can also fly into Tulsa or Oklahoma City and then drive (approximately 1.5 hours) to Stillwater.  You may also utilize Uber or Lyft to/from the airports to your hotel.
