Detailed Enrollment Process

Failure to follow these steps or to complete them in the proper order will cause delays in enrollment.

Enrollment for business online learning courses must be completed through Banner Self Service.

To ensure a spot in a course, it is encouraged for students to enroll as soon as courses become available.

Admittance to Oklahoma State University is required to enroll. If not already admitted, graduates visit the Graduate College and undergraduates may visit the Admissions Office.

Per OSU policy, students who are not enrolled in at least one course before the first day of classes for a given semester but who later enroll for that semester will be charged a $50 late fee by OSU.

Students considering taking more than nine hours in the fall or spring – or more than six in the summer – are strongly encouraged to consult with an advisor.

Undergraduate Students

Prior to undergraduate enrollment, an appointment with an advisor is necessary. For more information on undergraduate enrollment visit the Spears School Student Services website.

Graduate Students

New graduate students who have not yet submitted a plan of study must seek advisement with an advisor. Advisor information for each program is below.

Enrollment Holds

Any holds, such as Bursar Office or Academic Advising holds, will prevent enrollment. To check for holds:

Course Offerings

Course offerings, course descriptions, textbook requirements can be located on Banner website (link to ). The OSU University Store and the Tulsa bookstore will carry a small inventory or books may be purchased from any outside book vendor (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Ecampus, etc.).

Forms Required Before Enrollment

  • Student Information Form
  • Online Learning Proctor Agreement Form – must be approved by Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence. (see below under Proctor Agreement Form)

Proctor Agreement Form

Review the course syllabus located on the online classroom portal Brightspace to determine if a proctor is required for exams. If the exam is to be proctored by a testing center, each semester, students will need to select a testing center from the a pre-approved list, for each course(s). If unable to find a testing center from the pre-approved list, then the Proctor Agreement Form will need to be submitted by going to, editing testing center next to each course(s) and submit. All proctors are approved through the Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence. Allow 24 to 48 hours for your request to be processed.

A testing center can be changed during the semester, however changing less than 4 days prior to the exam start date, the Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence will need to be notified immediately or the exam will not be sent to the proctor.

If exams are to be taken with the instructor (if allowed), it is still necessary to edit testing center for each course and check the box “Instructor Can Admin Test” then save at

Student Information Form

Submit the online Student Information Form

This form is for Online Learning information only. It will not be issued to other departments or organization. This form is required for mailing course materials, preferred email address, business address, phone and proctor information. A student’s OSU email address is the primary mode of university communication however, updated student information is necessary in order to service each student accurately.

Students must submit this form at the beginning of every semester. If information changes during the semester, notify the Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence.


  1. Schedule an appointment with your advisor
  2. Log in to Banner Self Service with O-key user id and password
  3. Check for and clear any enrollment holds
  4. Enroll in your course(s) through Banner Self Service.
  5. Select a testing center from a pre-approved list at, “Select Testing Center”.
    Submit a new Online Learning Proctor Agreement Form, if unable to find a testing center in the pre-approved list, by clicking on “Edit Testing Center”. Only submit this form once with all course CRN#’s listed.
  6. Submit the online Student Information Form
  7. Verify course enrollment via Banner Self Service

Course Procedures and Materials

Once enrollment has been completed, course materials and lectures will be located on a course management system, Brightspace. Courses are active one week prior to the course start date.

Adding and Dropping Courses

Add and drop actions for online learning course sections should be done through Banner Self Service. Information regarding Drop and Add dates can be found at the Office of the Registrar website.
