Decision Making Using Data Analytics

Presented by: Dr. Ramesh Sharda and Dr. Goutam Chakraborty

Plan to attend this hands-on workshop that will have you work with data which you can put to use when you return to your own casino business. Casino business intelligence and analytics applications are key issues for driving business KPIs such as customer retention, top-line revenue, bottom line profit and so on. Analysis of your historical data can help you answer questions such as… how do you segment a market? Which is the best segment to target for more revenues? How do you make a financial forecast based on in-house data? How do you measure a lifetime value of a guest/player? Which guests have more propensity to buy additional services/products? The ability to sift through data and generate insights by answering questions such as above can be used for advertising/marketing campaigns or better process management which in turn can drive the business KPIs.

What you will learn:

  • Demonstrate: basic sales revenue forecasting based on historical data
    • Short-term—weekly, monthly, quarterly
    • Long-term—annual forecast
    • Comparison of properties
  • Demonstrate: Lifetime value of guests—recency, frequency and monetary (RFM) approach
  • Demonstrate: How to segment your customer base
  • Demonstrate: Predictive model—which guests/players are likely to visit
  • Demonstrate: Testing player behavior

Emotional Intelligence

Presented by: Dr. Alexis Washington

Participants will learn a validated framework for emotional intelligence, and will assess their own level of EI using the Emotional Competence Inventory, a 360-degree evaluation. Through a series of exercises, participants will build a personal vision and make a plan to increase their EI in order to achieve that vision and mover toward excellent performance.

Strategy and Tactics via Business Simulation: Bringing it all Together

Presented by: Dr. Goutam Chakraborty

Decision making and teamwork are essential leadership skills. The simulation will broaden your understanding of target market selection and positioning of brands in that market, value creation in product design, cash flow planning, profitability analysis, and strategic planning and management. The overall experience will stimulate you to consider the effects of your decisions on the organization. A spirit of team dynamics, competition and integration of concepts learned are skills you can take back with you and apply immediately to your organizational setting.
