Services for Faculty
The Spears School of Business Career Services works closely with the central OSU Career Services office located in the Student Union.
The central office maintains the HIRE System (an online job posting system) & the hireosuegrads.com website.
The Spears School of Business partners with the central office to develop employer relationships, to host an annual fall career fair and to list ALL job postings.
Ways for Faculty to work with Career Services Include:
Tailored Class Presentations
Faculty teaching courses with a career development component have asked Career Services to speak to their class. Topics have included resume development, searching for jobs, the HireSystem, and general introductions to Spears School Career Services.
Developing Resources or Materials for Students
Need additional material or information regarding a career topic for your class? Career Services can research and gather material for you and either present to your class or simply share the information with you.
Want to assign students a resume or cover letter for credit? Career Services, using a rubric, can review and critique your students’ resumes.
We want to prepare our students for the world
We believe students who master the career competencies* will be prepared to achieve a successful career.
Consider the opportunities you have to help students with their career development. Whether it is an introductory course discussion of possible careers or a senior level capstone course where a resume is assigned, Career Services would like to help you.
Listed are some of the ways in which Career Services and Spears School Faculty have worked together. New ideas are always welcome.
If you have an idea or would like to work together to help our students, contact Career Services office at 744-2772 or by email.
* Competencies are based on the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education Career Services mission guidelines.
