Center for Social and Services Marketing

To advance the knowledge and practice of social and services marketing

There are many organizations dedicated to helping people live healthier lives, but few are truly effective when it comes to motivating people to act upon the advice of their experts. That requires marketing. Housed in the Department of Marketing in the William S. Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University, the Center for Social and Services Marketing, a unique, multidisciplinary research endeavor, can be a powerful partner for organizations that seek to achieve social objectives as their basic mission.

The Center provides a much-needed marketing resource for Oklahoma and the surrounding region with executive education opportunities, an internship program and academic experts who can conduct research (basic and applied), provide guidance and establish marketing strategies. The Center also sponsors conferences that bring together individuals from other OSU departments and universities, companies and nonprofits to share information and focus on the complex and critical issues faced by the social and services marketing sector.

Center’s Director

Dr. Joshua L. Wiener - Professor of Marketing, the Carson Professor of Business Administration and the head of the Department of Marketing.
