Begin your summer with a trip to LOS ANGELES! This course will explore the application of business disciplines to the ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, specifically in the areas of MANAGEMENT AND MARKETING. We will focus on the intersection of business and creativity in an industry that all of us are probably familiar with, but rarely get to see from the inside. Students will have the opportunity to tour the STAPLES CENTER, meet with PRODUCERS from some of Mark Burnett’s reality shows (such as The Apprentice), and learn about cutting edge entertainment marketing. Presentations are also planned with William Morris Endeavor (Talent Management), and former Director of Development for the Discovery Channel and current Head of West Coast Development for Leftfield Pictures Joe Weinstock. Students will also have the opportunity to attend SPORTING EVENTS, STUDIO TOURS, and the CULTURAL SITES associated with the Los Angeles area.
