All about ACE

ACE is the School of Accounting Collaborative for Excellence, a tutoring lab and mentorship hub staffed by undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants. In short, we provide exceptional assistance to students enrolled in accounting courses at Oklahoma State as well as support to faculty and staff through teaching and research assistant roles. We have hundreds of students visit us each semester to help better understand the concepts they are learning in the class! Many students find it helpful to review concepts with our scholars in ACE if they are having difficulties understanding these concepts in the classroom. The one-on-one interactions students have with our scholars go far beyond just understanding content – many students find mentors in our scholars, forming life-long relationships.

ACE house rules

1, Please scan the QR code upon arrival.
2, Put your cellphone away.
3, Take out your materials (computer, calculator, paper, writing utensil, textbook, notes, etc.).
4, Review your assignment and come up with specific questions.
5, Review relevant portions of your textbook, class notes or class videos. The answer might be waiting for you there.
6, ACE is not the substitute for attending class. You should only consider ACE after having attended class/watched videos.
7, Attempt homework and assignments first (and no, submitting a blank assignment so we think your "tried" doesn't count).
8, Take advantage of all course resources before showing up in ACE.

What is the atmosphere in ACE?

Our scholars are just like you – students at OSU! They have proven to be masters at the content they have learned in class, which equips them to teach other students effectively. This allows ACE to have a more casual atmosphere, though our scholars are still expected to uphold professional behaviors and act as role models for other students.

Is the information approved by professors?

All of our professors have direct contact with ACE Scholars. Each TA is responsible for ensuring that the information taught in their assigned class is relayed appropriately to each member in ACE. We encourage all tutors to review weekly course content for all accounting classes so they can be better prepared to serve you!

How do I join the ACE Scholars Community on Canvas?

Students can add themselves to the Canvas Community.
